6/13/26- Day 13- Up, Up and Away.

Seems there’s only one way and that’s up. Yesterday was 16 miles, today was 14 and I’m still beat up. One reason may be that I went over the highest peak in the eastern US, and another was, it was really hot and I felt it. In camp, there is another hiker who’s going to Fontana, so I’ll probably see him at the shelter tomorrow. There was also a work crew. It was nice talking to them, as they are all hikers themselves.

Tomorrow is a shorter day, just over 12 miles, but there are a few climbs that may hurt, especially if it’s hot again. There’s rain in the forecast for the afternoon, but I’m hoping to get to the shelter before it gets heavy. A few pictures, today, but it’s a struggle.

As of this afternoon I officially completed 2000 miles on the AT.

Got to rest up for tomorrow, so Whistler out.
