6/11/26- Day 11 in the mountains in the “cloud forest”.

Today was a day of big climbs again. Reached 6300 feet a couple of times, now sitting at 5700. Tomorrow will be about the same, just a couple miles longer. In the park, we’re at the mercy of the shelters because you can’t camp anywhere except at a shelter so you have to watch the distances and shelter closures carefully, which by the way, is difficult because there’s not internet service here. I’ve managed a few photos today and the hikers I’ve passed say there’s more to come.

I’m officially down to one trekking pole because one completely blew up. Will have to learn how to get along on one until I can buy a new set. They’ve been my companions, since mile one, on this journey.

Still hoping to be done, and in Kingston, before the end of the month, we’ll see how my legs and equipment hold up.

For today,

Whistler out.
