6/6/26- Day 6. Uncle Johnny’s to Flint Mountain Shelter

Felt pretty good today. The rest day, yesterday, made a difference. The hike somehow, like always, was mostly up hill, but even though it was much warmer today, my legs and I felt much better. A lot more wildlife in the area. Saw, or heard someone saw, a buck, doe and 5 bears. The deer were oblivious to us, the bears beat feet when they see people.

Staying in a shelter and so far only one other hiker here, but it’s just 6 pm, so it’s early.  Tomorrow is a 14

mile day, with a climb at the beginning and some rocky trails, so it will be a long slow day.

Monday back in town, Hot Springs, to resupply and rest.

Until tomorrow.

Whistler out.
