6-7-26. Day 7- Flint Mountain Shelter to Little Laurel Shelter

Another day in the green tunnel. As you may have noticed, the number of pictures is getting less and less, each day, and will for a few more days. When I wake up I see filtered sunlight through the green leaves and it’s the same all day   The trails aren’t bad and neither are  they too steep. Still haven’t seen a lot of wildlife, but Wednesday or Thursday I’ll be entering the Smoky Mountains National Park, and I’ve been told it’s full of animals.

Tomorrow, I’ll make the 19 miles into Hot Springs and take another Zero day. I also broke the tip off of one of my trekking poles in the rocks and my boot insoles are starting to come apart, so a little maintenance is in order.

I passed the 1900 mile southbound today, so I have less than 300 left.

That’s all for now.

Whistler out.
