Day 1- 5/3/22 Roanoke/Daleville to Campbell shelter 15.5 miles

Got an early start from the hotel to the trail then the Adventure began. The trail was fine, but it was a scorcher of a day. High 80’s with a full pack and first day out. I should have done less, but I got through it. The only real adventure was tucking in under a Rock ledge to wait out a thunder storm, but even that turned out okay, as I managed about an hour nap in a dry spot.

I took my time and got to the shelter around 530. Tomorrow is a planned 17 mile day, but we’ll see. It will depend on the temps and how I feel.
