Did a short 12 miles today and mostly beat the rain. Didn’t matter much, as the trails for the third day in a row were nothing but mud. Vermont’s trails are a big disapointment. Near as I can tell,
no one is looking after them. There is no drainage maintained. The deadfalls haven’t been cleared in what looks like months and what few board walks there are, don’t go over the mud holes. Oh well, all part of the adventure. The next 24 hours will be off the trail, in Shushan, where I will clean, dry and reorganize before splashing back onto the muddy trails of Vermont. Until Friday night... here’s Whistler signing off.
