Hall Mountain to The Cabin- Today was a short hike of 6 miles to the hostel known as”The Cabin”. The Cabin was started in 1994, by Honey and Bear who had just met on the trail, got married and settled down to host hikers. Bear has passed, but at age 87, Honey still runs the hostel and hikes a 4000 foot peak every year, on her birthday, in July. When you stay at The Cabin you have the run of the house including the laundry and the refrigerator where everything is yours if you want. Four generations live on property and all help with the upkeep, chores, toting hikers around and making everyone feel at home. Tomorrow, I head off to New Hampshire and the first 4000 foot peaks since last year. Today’s day of rest will be a big help with that. Whistler signing off, while Honey is busy cooking pork roast for dinner.
