Started early as usual. The weather was nice, clear and cool, that didn’t last long. The heat and humidity rolled in with purpose. That couldn’t take away from the beautiful country most of the day- the walk was along one stream or another. Today was also the ferry ride across the Kennebec River. The river isn’t large, but the crossing is dangerous so the trail provides a ferryman with a canoe to get each of us across safely. After that just a few more miles to a shelter in another pond. Set up camp, and it poured again. Seems the weather for this trip is storms, storms and more storms. Oh well, so far I’m safe, but wet.
Here’s a soggy Whistler signing off until tomorrow.
