UP EARLY IN CAMP. HAVE TO PACK MY WET STUFF AND EAT SOMETHING BEFORE I START MY DAY. DETAIL, MAVERICK, GOOBER AND I ARE STILL HIKING TOGETHER. OUR PLAN IS TO CAMP THE NIGHT AT A STATE PARK 18 MILES AWAY BUT THAT MAY DEPEND ON THE WATER SITUATION. IT HAS BECOME OBVIOUS THAT THE WATER SOURCE, OR LACK OF, IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN AN OFFICIAL CAMPING AREA OF SHELTER. LATER IN THE MORNING WE LEARNED THAT WHILE THE CAMP GROUND IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC IT IS OPEN TO AT HIKERS. THERE IS A FIELD WITH TABLES AND A FIRE PIT WE CAN USE. THE BATHROOMS ARE OPEN, A REAL LUXURY, AND OH BE STILL MY BEATING HEART, COLD SHOWERS. SO EXCITING THAT WE CAN SIT ON PORCELAIN AND WASH IN RUNNING WATER. THIS WAS AN EVEN HARDER DAY THAN DAYS PAST. I KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE I MENTION IT EVERY DAY BUT ITS THE PUDS AND THE ROCKS. I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE SO MANY ROCKS IN NEW YORK. EVERY STEP YOU RISK A TWISTED ANKLE AND AT THE END OF THE DAY YOUR FEET ARE SO SORE ITS HARD TO SLEEP BECAUSE EVERY TIME YOUR FEET TOUCH THE HAMMOCK THEY HURT. I CAN ONLY HOPE THIS WILL GO AWAY WITH TIME. TODAY WAS TRUELY A DAY IN THE GREEN TUNNEL, NOTHING BUT TREES TO TAKE PICTURES OF. WHEN DETAIL AND I REACH THE CAMP GROUND WE'RE DEAD TIRED. THEN THE GUYS HAD HEARD THERE WAS PIZZA DELIVERY TO THE PARK, THAT WAS JUST A CRUEL JOKE AND WE COULDN'T FIND ANYONE WHO WHOULD DELIVER SO IT WAS MOUNTAIN HOUSE HIKING FOOD AGAIN.. OH WELL IT TASTE REALLY GOOD. OFF TO SLEEP WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT TOMORROW IS A STROLL IN THE PARK, ONLY PLANNING 10 MILES ON THE TRAIL PLUS ABOUT ANOTHER MILE TO MEET UP WITH DEBBIE.
