Another fine day in DC and our first day without rain. We made a number of stops today. We started with the US Navy Memorial, followed by Fords Theater and museum. Wes’ favorite president is Abraham Lincoln, so he was engaged all morning. After, followed lunch, at a food truck on the National Mall. After a quick bite we hit the Air and Space Museum. Wes was very bored by now, so we did a few minutes in the full motion flight simulator. He managed the whole ride, loops and rolls included, without loosing his lunch. I’m not sure he knew what I had planned, but I think he enjoyed it. The rest of the afternoon was a struggle visiting the National Archives, the American History Museum and the Natural History Museum. By this time the kids had zero attention span and most of the adults were beat as well. Dinner was at a famous DC spot known as Ben’s ChilI Bowl. The food was good and we followed it with ice cream, Wes’ second of the day. Tomorrow, I’ll be on the train home, can’t wait. Whistler signing off, until I head north to Maine, in a month, or so.
